Let’s start with a little truth bomb: success isn’t about luck, and it sure as heck isn’t about some magical “secret” the world is hiding from you. It’s about habits—daily, consistent actions that goal achievers master to get them where they want to be. As Aristotle said, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit."

Want More Success? These 10 Habits Are the Game-Changers You Need
I know I know—habits can sound a little boring. Like, why can’t success be more glamorous, like sipping cocktails on a beach while casually inventing the next iPhone? But the truth is, the real magic is in the small actions that successful people do over and over again. Ready to find out what those are? Buckle up. Here you go…
1. They Wake Up Early (Because Mornings Are a Goldmine)
Once upon a time, there was a world-class achiever who slept until noon every day and still conquered the world. Just kidding—that never happened. The reality is that most goal-getters are part of the “early riser” club. It’s not about being a morning person by birth, it's about understanding that mornings are sacred for focus and getting things done.
In fact, a study by Harvard found that people who wake up early are more proactive, more productive, and better equipped to handle the stress of the day. So, if you’ve been hitting that snooze button like it’s your job, you might want to reconsider.
2. They Set Clear Goals (Because Vague Goals Get Vague Results)
Imagine hopping in your car and saying, “Take me somewhere!” Well, unless your car is an Uber with a psychic driver, you’ll probably just end up driving in circles. That’s what life feels like without clear goals—endless wandering with no destination in sight.
Goal achievers, on the other hand, are like human GPS systems. They know exactly where they’re going because they set crystal-clear and very specific goals. And they don’t just set them once; they revisit them often. It’s a process that keeps them on track, no matter how crazy the road gets.
To help you accelerate your results, you can’t afford to guess your way to success—you need absolute clarity! Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) give you the power to make laser-focused decisions that can explode your growth.
The Power of KPIs:
· Clarity is Power – KPIs show exactly what’s working or not working, so you can amplify your success.
· Speed = Success – Pivot fast instead of waiting months to see results.
· Scale with Certainty – Replicate winning strategies and optimize performance.
· Focus on What Moves the Needle – Maximize time and energy on high payoff activities.
· Turn Pressure into Power – Stay accountable, motivated, and in control of your success.
Master your KPIs and master your business success. Start measuring what matters—and watch your success skyrocket to having your ideal business and ideal life!
3. They Visualize Their Success (Yes, Really)
“Visualizing and mental preparation is every bit as effective as physical preparation.”
– Phil Mickelson, Professional Golfer
This one might sound a little woo-woo, but stick with me. Goal achievers visualize their success like it’s already happened. Take Olympic athletes, for example.
Many of them spend as much time mentally rehearsing their races as they do physically training for them. Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time, used visualization to mentally swim his races before ever stepping foot in the pool.
Science backs this up, too. Studies show that mental imagery activates the same brain regions as real-life actions, which can significantly improve performance. So, go ahead—picture yourself closing that big business deal or nailing that presentation. The brain loves it and will help you achieve your goals.
Phil Mickelson said: “When you visualize you visualize perfection. You visualize hitting the shot the way you want to. And so, I remember just before the Masters one year, I had missed the cut and the week before I was playing terrible. I did not hit any balls for five days – Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday leading up to the Masters because I wasn’t physically able to hit it the way I wanted to. But what I would do is I’d lay at home, I’d grab a club, and I would visualize making a perfect swing, I would visualize hitting a perfect shot. I played nine holes in those five days. And I ended up finishing third. I didn’t win but I played some really good golf. By far, better than what I had played the week before. By just using mental rehearsal and preparation. So, it’s a powerful tool. You really need to combine it with physical practice but it’s a great way to get yourself ready because you only see yourself doing it in the proper way, doing it perfectly.”
Visualization helps you train your brain to work for you, not against you. Studies show visualization improves motivation, coordination, and concentration, while reducing fear and anxiety. And now, you can access my complimentary guidebook that will help you harness the power of visualization and create the business and life you truly want.

4. They Stay Organized (Messy Desk = Messy Life)
Remember that time you lost your keys, your phone, and maybe even your sanity all in the same morning? Yeah, that’s not happening to goal achievers. Why? Because they’ve mastered the art of organization.
Staying organized doesn’t mean you need to color-code your closet (unless you’re into that kind of thing, which I tend to be…). It means having systems in place to keep your life from descending into chaos. Goal achievers use planners, prioritized action lists (to-do lists), and apps to keep everything in check. They’re pros at prioritizing what matters most and saying “NO” to distractions that take them away from their goal and mission.
5. They Embrace Failure (Because It’s Part of the Process)
Here’s a story you might find surprising: Did you know that Thomas Edison failed over 1,000 times before finally inventing the light bulb? When asked about his "failures," he famously said, “I have not failed. I've just found 1,000 ways that won't work.”
You’ve probably heard of Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen, and their best-selling book series, Chicken Soup for the Soul. Did you know they marketed the original books to over 130 publishers over a two-year period before a struggling publisher agreed to publish it. That's two years of phone calls, foot-peddling, and persistence that started a best-selling book series. The authors knew the value of the book, it came down to making it known to the right publisher. Once the publisher saw the value, they knew what the benefits would be. Their first book went on to sell 8 million copies in 39 languages. And to date, the series has sold more than 100 million copies in over 45 languages.
Failure isn’t the end for goal achievers; it’s part of the path to success. Instead of seeing failure as a sign they should give up, they view it as feedback. If you want to be successful, don’t fear failure—embrace it as a learning opportunity.
6. They Practice Gratitude (Yes, Even When Things Suck)
No one said the road to success would be all sunshine and rainbows. However, one thing that sets goal achievers apart is their ability to find something to be grateful for, even on the worst days. Studies from the University of California, Davis, show that people who practice gratitude are happier, healthier, and more optimistic, which leads to—you guessed it—even more success.
Gratitude isn’t just a feel-good emotion; it’s a habit that rewires your brain for positivity and resilience. And when things go wrong (which they inevitably will), gratitude is the thing that keeps goal achievers moving forward.
Begin practicing gratitude today by downloading my complimentary Gratitude Journal at https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/gratitude/.
7. They Network Like a Boss (Because Who You Know Matters)
You’ve heard the saying, “It’s not what you know, it's who you know.” Goal achievers live by this rule; however, they don’t just network for the sake of it. They build genuine relationships with people who inspire and challenge them.
In fact, according to a study from Harvard Business Review, 85% of jobs are filled through networking. Goal achievers know the value of connecting with others, whether it’s for business opportunities, mentorship, or simply sharing knowledge.
8. They Focus on Continuous Learning (Because Learning Never Stops)
Successful people are lifelong learners. Whether they’re reading books, attending workshops, or listening to podcasts (like the Accountability Coach), goal achievers never stop educating themselves. Bill Gates is famous for his “5-hour rule,” where he dedicates at least an hour a day to learning something new.
This habit isn’t just about staying on top of trends; it’s about growth. The more you learn, the more tools you have to reach your goals. And in a world that’s constantly changing, the best way to stay ahead is to keep learning.
9. They Take Care of Their Health (Because Success Requires Stamina)
This one might sound obvious, but you’d be surprised how many people sacrifice their health in the name of success—only to burn out before they reach their goals. Goal achievers understand that without good health, success is fleeting.
They prioritize sleep (remember that?), exercise, and proper nutrition because they know that success requires stamina. As the saying goes, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” Take care of your body, and it’ll take care of your ambitions in return.
One way to monitor your sleep is with the Oura Ring. Your finger provides the most accurate reading of over 20 biometrics that directly impact how you feel.
10. They Stay Consistent (Because Consistency Beats Motivation)
Motivation is great, but let’s be honest—it comes and goes. What sets goal achievers apart is their ability to stay consistent, even on the days when they don’t feel like it. They show up and do the work, day in and day out, because they understand that consistency is the real key to success.
As Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson puts it, “Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success.”
As Peter Vidmar says, to be an Olympic Champion, you only need to work out two times.
When you feel like it…
When you don’t feel like it…
Wrapping It All Up
So, there you have it—10 habits that goal achievers use to crush it, day in and day out. It’s not rocket science, it’s about dedication, consistency, and showing up for yourself. These habits aren’t reserved for a select few; they’re ations anyone can develop with a little focus and commitment.
Remember, success isn’t some far-off dream reserved for a lucky few. It’s the result of building strong habits that support your goals. Start small, stay consistent, and before you know it, you’ll be the person that other people are looking to for inspiration. Now, go out there and make it happen! I believe in you.
